Ductwork Rough-In
- Duct sizes match ACCA Manual D design
- Ducts properly supported every 8 ft max
- All duct connections taped or mastic-sealed
- Insulation on supply ducts in unconditioned space
- Return air path clear — no pressure-blocking doors
- Bath and kitchen exhaust fans ducted to exterior
- Dryer duct properly installed (metal, not plastic)
- Combustion air openings per equipment requirements
- All duct penetrations through fire walls sealed
Equipment Installation
- AHU / furnace clearances per manufacturer spec
- Condensate drain installed with trap — no standing water
- Condensate overflow pan installed under AHU
- Refrigerant line set properly insulated
- Refrigerant line set protected from physical damage
- Condensing unit on pad — level and secured
- Condenser clearance from walls, shrubs, other equipment
- Electrical disconnect at condenser
- Low-voltage control wiring properly labeled
- Gas line properly sized, supported, and leak-tested
- Combustion venting per code (material and pitch)
- CO / flue gas backdraft test passed
- Filter slot accessible and correctly sized
Startup & Commissioning
- Refrigerant charge verified (superheat / subcooling)
- Static pressure readings within design range
- All supply and return grilles installed
- Thermostat wired and programmed
- System test — both heating and cooling modes
- Airflow balanced to each zone / room
- Noise / vibration levels acceptable
- Safety controls tested (high limit, pressure switches)
- Emergency shutoff functional
- Startup sheet filled out and attached to equipment
Final Inspection
- All access panels secured
- Equipment labels and warnings intact
- Homeowner walkthrough complete — system operation explained
- Warranty registration submitted
- Maintenance schedule left with owner
- All debris and scrap materials removed
- Insulation intact on all pipe and duct
- Permit card signed off by inspector
